>the voices< is the debut 12 inch from bobby and annie. drawing on their experiences as residents at the mint club, uk, the pair have crafted a versatile ep that sits as comfortably in a peak time set as it does on a hazy 6am dance floor. taken from a collection of vocal out-takes the voices have been cleverly obscured through various production techniques and layered around drums and old school analogue synth lines to unique effect. the results are two haunting, hypnotic, yet upbeat dj tools. the title track, >voices<, uses deftly interwoven vocal samples as the focus and driving hook. shuffled percussion takes a back seat amidst a discordant, attention-grabbing synth interlude that harks back to the playful garage sound of90s chicago house. the outcome is dramatic, intense and functional. on the b-side, >loose ends<, is a more rugged affair that gives the bass and drums centre stage. the vocals are pitched and trippily float in and out of the track whilst the familiar sound of fairlight stabs punctuate the groove. the effect is eerie, yet accessible, and rounds off this stunning ep.

over the last year a new generation of young and ambitious electronic / house producers from italy have caused lot of rumors. adriano is a great interpreter of the scene in the heart of italy, which is going to become the new centre for house and techno culture. eimaleins captures the essence of adrianos style, releasing this two tracks which have the houzy and techy flavours, wisely mixed with solid but quite funk groove. adriano calls his friend matt brown to remix his track voices. its an amazing super warm and smooth piece of house music.

!!!!!!strictly limited to 500 copies!!!!!! together with stefan goldmanns debut cd the transitory state, macro releases a strictly limited box set containing five 7? records holding the electroacoustic album voices of the dead. with his releases for innervisions, perlon and macro stefan goldmann has been a key figure at the cutting edge of post minimal techno and the renewal of house music. this album is a distinctively different affair though, reaching far beyond the scope of dancefloor electronics. starting a trilogy of concept albums, stefan goldmann searches for the common root of all music in an electroacoustic setting. from this album turret is already renowned as the intro sequence of richie hawtins groundbreaking de9 transitions mix compilation and was also commissioned by the biblioteque nationale de france for the imeb phonoteque public collection. the artist explains: at first sight we recognise upfront elements like a melody or rhythmic pattern, which we associate with a certain piece or style of music, but there is tension between two notes, hard-to-define background information that at a closer look is found everywhere - within the music of coltrane and stravinsky, death metal and 9th century byzantine chants. if there is anything like a total, secret common ground, than its this information lurking in the background. these are the voices of the dead, the heritage of an endless line of ancestors brought forward through the centuries. i tried to make these elements audible as clearly as possible. really like this weird space ambient one. ive put katorga and izo already into my final scratch computer and have been playing them! truffle music (toronto) returns with the voices (plant music) releasing their first e.p. isince 2005 and following up on the initial success of their sure thing/street commander eps on nycs plant music. cavern is a disco punk stomper that builds from the start with sizzling 4/4 live drums, bass, keys and a hypnotic subdued vocal that build to an apex only to break down and come back harder on the instrumental tip. spooky is a tripped out instrumental that is slower in tempo and heavy on the pychedelic. featuring all live instrumentation, this track takes you on a twisted journey. l.a.s woolfy (rong, permanent vacation) takes on the remix with his epic woolfy neu rave disco mix and he delivers just that with a speed up stormer that is over twice as long as the original and has a faint scent of old warehouse days but takes it forward with an interesting arrangement and eclectic instrumentation.

not another promo text!?!? we find that all of the music produced by harry axt speaks volumes, therefore we simply (and happily!) offer you these two new tracks. it s worth mentioning that this is the last ep from harry axt before his album release in october on rompecabeza music. the whole summer he will indulge in a production break, so that he may doze in the sun, test every type of beer possible, demolish enormous amounts of grilled meat and danish ice cream, and then completely concentrate this replenished creativity on his debut album. then, while the sun fades away for another season, he will let the sunshine back into our ears…
